Moosir started the way most good hunting conversations do: at a tailgate, arguing about gear. One of us had just dropped real money on a scope that fogged up the first cold morning. Another had a $40 pair of boots that somehow outlasted everything. We were tired of reviews written by people who’d clearly never sat in a stand at 20°F — so we started writing our own.

What we do

We test hunting and outdoor gear, write honest reviews and buying guides, and help you find the right kit without wading through a hundred lookalike products. When we recommend something, we link you to the current best-rated option on Amazon, where you can check live pricing, read buyer reviews, and order with their returns and shipping.

We’re a publication, not a store. We don’t hold inventory or process orders. We earn a small affiliate commission when you buy through our links — at no extra cost to you — and that’s what keeps Moosir independent and free to read.

How we test

• We use it in the field. Gear gets tested in the season and conditions it’s built for — not unboxed on a desk and forgotten.

• We flag the smart buy. The most expensive option rarely wins. We call out the best value for most hunters, plus an upgrade pick and a budget pick.
• We keep it current. Models get discontinued and replaced. We revisit our top picks every season so the link you click is still the right call.
